We have been to EVERY Hot Wheels event at K-Mart!

According to a recent phone conversation with marketing at Sears Corp -

this will be the last year for K-Mart Hot Wheels Day Events (September & November 2012).

Most, if not all, K-Marts and Sears stores will be closed and out of business.

Sears store will NOT be participating in the last two events - just K-Mart stores.

Do NOT plan on any extra cases or promos at these events!

The September exclusives have been produced but, nothing definite for November - which

may NOT happen at all?!?

Hot Wheels sales have been down at these events for the last several years - even with fewer

stores and MORE collectors at the few stores which are still in business.

I have said all along to have MORE of each color exclusives in every case!

I have also said to have cases of ONLY all exclusives but, the geniuses at Mattel/Sears would not listen.

I kept telling the K-Mart stores AND Mattel all along to just have MORE cases at each event (not just the standard minimum 8 half-cases) to keep the collectors happy and coming back for more but, they would not listen.

We have seen the good and the bad at these events.

We tried to make them fun for everyone - including the children and families!

We helped each other, we stayed after to clean and organize any leftovers, and we traded outside in the parking lot for what we could not find.

I would like to say THANK YOU to Mattel and to K-Mart for having these events!!!

(if you thought K-Mart was bad and had problems with these events - God save us AND the Hot Wheels hobby IF Wally World should ever take over - especially here in the void of Michigan were stores almost NEVER stock new product or have a concept of what customer service is).
